TMEM128 (Transmembrane Protein 128) is located on human chromosome 4p16.3. The TMEM128 protein is ubiquitously expressed in thyroid, testis and other tissues. Structurally, the encoded TMEM128 protein is reported to be 18822 Da in mass. The TMEM128 gene is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, and frog. 242 organisms have orthologs with human gene TMEM128. TMEM128 is associated with some diseases, including Benign Paroxysmal Positional Nystagmus and Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis
